The Ripple Effect

The Ripple Effect

The Ripple Effect is a co-created, collaborative, community based generative workshop for creatives of all kinds. No experience necessary.

Duration: 90-120 minutes. Online via Zoom.

There is an active effort to remove hierarchy  from this space, so The Ripple Effect might look and feel a bit different from other workshops you’ve been to.

  • Each participant is invited to bring something to share with the group. This could be a piece of art or writing created by themself, or by someone else. It could also be an image, a word, an object, a concept, a thought.

  • We begin by going around the room, with each person introducing themself and sharing what they've brought. These shares are to be considered as prompts, to begin your own creations.

  • Once we have each made our offerings, we take time to quietly co-create. All mediums are welcome. We will then take time to create for 15-30 minutes depending on the number of participants. A visual timer will be available.

  • Each participant will have a chance to share- a reflection, a creation, a closing thought.

  • We repeat this process again, if we have time!

The Ripple Effect is a sliding scale event, $10/$15/$20. If using a sliding scale is new to you, you can learn more about that here. Please note: If you want to join us, I want you there. Please email Meg to request the code to register without fee, no questions asked.

Want to know more about The Ripple Effect?

  • You do not have to bring anything to share.

  • Cameras can be on or off- if your camera is off, you will not be called on to speak out loud.

  • Sharing is always optional

  • No feedback or critique is given on newly created work.

  • You are welcome to use the chat throughout the session, but you aren't obligated to keep your eyes on it. I do that for you! If you prefer to share your writing or art in the chat, please do! If you want someone to read a comment or work aloud, please let us know.

  • Once you've attended at least one session of The Ripple Effect, you can opt to take an active role in the space.

Read the Community Guidelines, below.

Community Guidelines

  • Your creativity deserves company on easy days and hard ones. Show up however you can, and do what you need to do to take care of yourself.

  • All ways of creating- making art, writing, dancing, singing, imagining. are welcome, and equal.

  • All ways of showing up and sharing - chat, talking aloud, camera on, camera off, are welcome and equal.

  • You are invited to skip any portion of The Ripple Effect - bringing inspiration, creating, sharing what you make, making anything at all - that don't fit you today.

  • Silence is ok. We don't give feedback on newly created work. If you share something and the group is quiet afterwards, that doesn't mean you did anything wrong.

  • Questions are always welcome.
