Orienteering & First Aid (For Writers)

You finish camp with a little bits of writing and you think some might be pretty good but what the heck are you supposed to do with them? Navigating the wilds of first, middle and final drafts (and OMG WHAT COMES NEXT) can feel impossible.

Writers in Bloom founder Meg has been published, and rejected, many times, and she's fascinated by the process of creating new work that turns into something shiny and ready to share.

This event will be part conversation, part information sharing, part writing to explore our own processes and needs. Workshop participants are invited to come with questions, queries, quandaries and ready for conversation.

We’ll explore and discuss:

  • Tips and tricks for edit your own writing

  • Figuring out when it’s time to to ask someone to read your work

  • Learning how to ask for the feedback you need

  • Finding ways to share your art that feel aligned for you

  • First aid for artists. Because sometimes, writing hurts.

This event is part of Session 2 of Small Brave Things Summer Camp.
