Creative Chaos is an experimental monthly group for neurodivergent writers and artist. No formal diagnoses is necessary to join. The group is hosted by Writers in Bloom founder, Meg.
This session of Creative Chaos begins January 21, 2024 and is held Sundays from 4pm-6pm EST on Zoom. It is offered at $85/$110/$135. Fully or partially funded seats may be available. Sessions are held on 4 consecutive Sundays, January 21, 28, February 4, 11.
A second session may be added on Wednesdays at 1pm, if enough folks are interested. Please email Meg to enquire about joining the Wednesday group.
It can be uncomfortable to bring up issues specific to neurodivergence, and to ask for our unique needs to be heard and met when in community with other writers and artists.
Creative Chaos is a space where neurodivergent writers and artists can share experiences and learn from one another. No shame. No blame. No guilt for a lack of routine/focus/consistency. No mention of potential.
This is a collaborative community, and ebbs and flows to meet the needs of the group. We check in, follow the threads that connect us, discuss our triumphs and challenges, discover new things about our creative experiences and projects, and, sometimes, we spend time writing as an exploration of the things that come up in our time together, or sharing our work to have it gently witnessed by the group.
Creative Chaos is a small group facilitated by Meg from Writers in Bloom, a neurodivergent, queer, mother and artist. All Writers in Bloom events are offered on a come as you are basis- this means snacks, pyjamas, pets and messy backgrounds are welcome. Though Meg holds and hosts this space- its brilliance truly comes from the folks who show up to learn, share and lend one another their time, energy, company, knowledge and conversation.
In Creative Chaos, there’s no such thing as an overshare, we believe an artists/writer is someone who is driven to create (even if they’re not creating, right now,) and we welcome folks at all stages of their writing and artistic journeys, from published writers to people figuring out how to get words and pictures from their brains, and onto the page.
I’d love to hear from you if you’re feeling unsure about jumping into the chaos.
An important note: If you want to join us, I want you there. Please email to make alternate arrangements for payment plans, or to inquire about a community funded seat. Money and access to banking should never be a barrier to creativity.
